13 STEPS TO UNDERSTANDING REEL CABLE INSTALLATION SPECIFICATIONS

We are a Power Cord Manufacturers, let me share with you the 13 steps to understand the reel cable installation specification.

  Reel cables are widely used in vertical lifting devices such as large tower cranes and open-air elevators for construction. The harsh use environment has high requirements for cable quality. But high-quality reel cables also require correct and standard installation to extend the life of the cable.

  1. In order to avoid rolling the cable reel, we should transport the cable directly to the site;

  2. It must be unfolded before installing the cable reel, and it can only be removed from the top of the cable reel during the unfolding process;

  3. If there is not enough space to place the full length of the cable, the distance between the installation cable reel and the equipment reel should be as long as possible to avoid S-bend and other deflections during laying;

  4. A large-scale wire clip must be used to fix the end of the cable to avoid squeezing the cable;

  5. When the cable is completely pulled out, keep at least two turns of the cable on the equipment cable reel;

  6. During the operation, the cable will cross the entry point. If the entry point is under the ground, a compensation pulley of appropriate diameter must be used, and a funnel-shaped guide device is equipped on it, and the cable is wound on it one or two times;

  7. Protect cables from external damage during installation and operation;

  8. Check the cable support frame;

  9. Appropriate cable pulleys and small trucks should be used to move cables to the installation site. In exceptional cases, when turning the cable drum, it must be rolled in the direction of the arrow;

  10. The cable must be wound on the equipment reel without twisting, please use the cable winding equipment. For cables with outer diameter less than 21.5mm, inner bend diameter = 10* cable diameter For cables with outer diameter greater than 21.5mm, inner bend diameter = 12.5* cable diameter;

  11. Do not pull up the cable on the device that is too tight or too loose. During unwinding, the cable can only be removed from the top of the cable drum;

  12. Ensure that the cable is not twisted;

  13. Adjust the cables so that they hang loosely in the middle of the cable support frame.
