THE MAIN METHOD OF METERING

EMC Energy Meter Test Bench is one of our products. Let's share the main methods of energy meter measurement (three-phase four-wire, indirect, direct, single) and selection methods:

  1. In the process of selecting the electric energy meter, if the selection is not made in strict accordance with the requirements of the regulations, no calculation or analysis, the installed electric energy meter is either too large or too small, which will cause the electric energy meter to burn out. , too small will affect the accuracy of measurement.

  2. For low-voltage power supply, when the load current is 50A and below, the direct-connected electric energy meter should be used, and when the load current is above 50A, the connection type through the current transformer should be used. At the same time, an electric energy meter with an overload of 4 times or more should be used.

  3. What does the current 5(10)A, 10(20)A and 5(40)A on the nameplate of the electric energy meter mean? What's the difference?

The current value before the brackets is called the calibration current, which is used to calculate the load base current value. The current in the brackets is called the rated maximum current, which is the maximum current value that can make the electric energy meter work normally for a long time, and the error and temperature rise fully meet the specified requirements.

  4. Use the electric energy meter and the transformer to measure together (current transformer, voltage transformer).

The benefits of connecting the electric meter to the transformer: (1) The measuring range of the electric meter can be expanded. (2) The high voltage and high current are separated from the electric meter by the transformer, which ensures the safety of the electric meter, its secondary circuit and the staff.
